Steele-Condit House The original house was built before 1757. Josiah Steele began education in Roseland in the house in the early 19th century. Later, the Deutsch-Tanfys, Viennese refugees, lived in the house. From about 1855 on, the house was occupied by the Condit family and was again a center of education in Roseland until the first schoolhouse was built. The original home has been added to and modernized by each generation to its present state of gracious livability. |
